Dr Sharma has twenty-five years of experience in industry and academia. He is a certified Case study teacher from  Harvard Business School Publishing and a Microsoft trained faculty.

He has served as Director with Jagannath International Management School Kalkaji. He has been an avid institution builder, being one of the founder faculties at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad and head of marketing department at Amity Business School Noida for more than a decade.  He has a corporate exposure as a profit center head with IBM-ACE education center and also with ITSA education wing of SRG infotech.

Prof Sharma has several publications in reputed refereed, indexed International and National Journals. He is reviewer of various journals including African Journal of Business Management, South Africa, the Int. J. of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics (IJESDF), The Transnational Journal of Business , The Scholarly Journal of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), Reviewer for Journal of Management Development, Emerald Publication, Reviewer for  International Journal of Business Innovation and Research.

He has been a Guest Editor of the International Journal of Electronic Business and International Journal of Business and Globalisation, Inderscience Publication.

Dr Sharma has authored 4 books and has also been actively involved in trainings and he has organized and conducted various M.D.P./E.D.P.s for a number companies for middle and senior executives including that of PSUs, corporates, SME’s and other Government departments like Jal Nigam and UP Avas Vikas Parishad. He was also a trainer for volunteers for commonwealth games held in New Delhi in 2010 at Amity University Noida.
