Workshop on Generative AI and Prompt Engineering

IMT CDL successfully conducted a five-day virtual workshop on “Generative AI and Prompt Engineering” from 22nd to 26th September 2025. The workshop aimed to empower students with essential knowledge and practical skills to harness the power of Generative AI for real-world applications across diverse domains such as marketing, HR, and content development.

The sessions were led by Mr. Kshitij Upadhyay, Faculty of Business Analytics and IT. Over five days, participants explored the foundations of Generative AI, prompt engineering techniques, and AI frameworks like AutoGen, LangChain, and Phoenix. The workshop combined theory with live demonstrations, guiding students through zero-shot, one-shot, and few-shot prompting, market research automation, and AI-driven content curation.

Participants were introduced to over 2000 pre-built prompts and 10+ prompt engineering methods, including priming, iteration, and laddering. They also engaged in hands-on exercises, crafting effective prompts that minimize AI hallucinations and improve contextual accuracy. The interactive nature of the workshop, supported by real-time discussions and LMS-based resources, made the learning experience highly engaging and practical.

The workshop concluded with students gaining a comprehensive understanding of Generative AI applications, actionable strategies for prompt design, and an appreciation of AI’s creative and analytical potential. It provided them with the tools to think critically, innovate confidently, and leverage AI for content generation, marketing intelligence, and decision-making in the digital age.
