Faculty Research Semnar (FRS) Series

The third Faculty Research Seminar, FRS 03/2020, was organized on 3rd December 2020. The event was attended by all faculty members, Dean-Academics and CEO along with Mr. R.R. Handa, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Ms. Rasika Mathur and Mr. Gaurav Rastogi as special guests. The seminar started at 3:30 pm with a welcome and opening note by Dr. Vivek Singh Tomar where he introduced and invited the session speaker Prof. Ravindra Kumar. The session speaker Prof. Ravindra Kumar introduced the topic for the session, “Influences on Indian Sculpture, Literature and Architecture”. The presentation took the audience back to history with a pictorial illustration on the evolution of Archs and influences on Indian ancient architecture. Prof. Ravindra shared a very systematic description with pictorial representation of architectural features of Qutub Ul Islam, Alai Darwaza, Buland Darwaza, Bhadreshwar Mosque, Nachana Kothara, Devgarh, Dashavtaar temple, Bhitargaon, Taj Mahal and many more buildings of historical prominence to explain history of Archs and Domes in India. The session went beyond history & architecture and covered various aspects of religion, art, culture, and diverse issues in India. The presentation was followed by discussion and reflections by the faculty members of different domains. Dean Academics, Dr. Asif Zameer also provided insight into the Sufi tradition of Qawwali, to add value to the session.
